I have a Paw Patrol lover in my house! Anyone else?! Really…what is not to love about those adorable pups? When it was time to start planning for my middle child’s 3 year old birthday party, the theme Paw Patrol came up quite a bit. I figured it would be an easy one to do with the popularity of the theme. Here’s what I did:

I am a big fan of Canva for making digital invites. You can sign up with a free account and make so many neat things! There are definitely perks to upgrading to the “pro” account, but you can make do with the free account. Because of the popularity of Paw Patrol, I was able to find so many pictures online to use for the invite. I send this out to the party guests via text and email.

Simple Decorations

This was a summer party so I held it outside. When hosting outside parties, I find that I don't need many decorations. People aren’t in the house where you can see decorations and it is hard to decorate outside in a backyard. I threw out some Paw Patrol decor that we had already, like a stuffed animal and a canvas wall print. It was a simple touch without spending additional money on decor.

There is never a “Birthday Party Mama” party without balloons! I went with a puppy theme balloon arch kit (don’t forget the essential electric balloon pump) with paw prints and the general color scheme mixed with a few of the special balloon characters. Follow my DIY balloon arch tutorial here. This is one of my favorite tips for spending less on themed decor: simple themed colors with a pop of the themed items. Read more here.

Take Home Goodies

I bought Paw Patrol felt masks to double as party favors and photo booth during the party. The guests had fun (even the adults!) posing with the Paw Patrol masks in front of the balloon arch. We used them during the party and then each guest got to take one home.

I bought one Good to Grow juice with a Paw Patrol character on it for each kid. Some of them opened them at the party and some took them home as a favor. These are a bit pricey to buy individually, so another great option is Paw Patrol Capri Sun juice pouches.

The Cake

I love baking my own birthday cakes and cupcakes! I’ve learned a lot over the years of cake decorating. This is probably my favorite one to date. I love the way it turned out. It was tedious but actually not that difficult to do. I just copied line by line the shape of the logo. I used this general guideline to make the shape. Finally, I popped some edible icing paw print decorations on it.

Happy party planning friends!
