Here are all of the details for a fun and easy Star Wars party. I went simple with the cake, food, decorations, and games. The kids had a blast and we were all tired out at the end. Success!

Food & Cake

The birthday guests came right after school, so I knew I needed a quick snack when they arrived. I made a snack board and it was a big hit! I included Star Wars goldfish (of course!), veggie straws, cheese, sausage, crackers, apple slices, and juice boxes.

For dinner, I threw in some frozen pizzas and a few sides. Simple works great for 7 year olds! The birthday boy requested a vanilla and chocolate cake so I made a 4-layer chocolate and vanilla cake. I added some homemade vanilla frosting (super easy by the way…beat butter, vanilla, powdered sugar, and a little water and you’ve got some easy and yummy vanilla frosting) in between the layers and on top. I added a simple “Happy Birthday Nolan” to the top with some light sabers. I used food coloring with the extra frosting and drew lines to represent the light sabers. This was not my most impressive or extravagant cake, but it worked. I had a short time period and the cake wasn’t my priority this time.

Decorations & Games

We played a few party games. The first was “Knock down the Storm Troopers”. This was so simple to set up and was a hit! I took some white solo cups from the Dollar Store and printed off some Storm Trooper pictures and taped them onto the cups. I set them up like a pyramid and had the kids shoot nerf gun bullets to knock over the cups.

I found the coolest life size Storm Trooper print out last minute and decided to put it together. It was a bit tedious, but pretty simple. It was 18 pages of paper that you can print at home. Then you need to cut and tape the pieces together. It was a fun addition to the decor! They also were “fighting” with the Storm Trooper with their lightsabers. I found the tutorial here.

Every Star Wars party needs light sabers! I made these DIY light sabers with a few supplies from the Dollar Tree: pool noodles and tape! First, cut the pool noodles in half. I just used a kitchen bread knife. Next, wrap the handle in gray duct tape; I used 3 pieces of tape. Next, layer black electrical tape lengthwise and then a square with black tape in the center. Finally, a red piece of tape in the middle for the button. See the picture and follow along! I promise it was easy.

Favors

I bought some Star Wars favors and some non-Star Wars favors to round out the goodie bag. Here’s what I included: Star Wars mini fuse bead set, Star Wars stickers, inflatable light sabers, Star Wars pencils, and a few other items.

If you have a Star Wars fan in your house, I hope you have a fun party! May the force be with you. Happy party planning friends!
